While serving as a lay priest in recently formed United States of Colombia in 1863. Under the presidency of Mosquera, the government seized land owned by the Roman Catholic Church, imprisoned priests, and undertook a serious oppression of Catholics. It was a tough time, but Father Rogerio, fought his way through it, attending to his flock.
In 1875, Father Rogerio came to the attention of the Red Court. At some point, the red court vampires in the area decided to recruit Father Rogerio to their cause. They kidnapped him in the middle of the night and began the process of turning him.
For twenty days, Rogerio managed to fight down the urge to kill an innocent human being and complete the transformation into a red court vampire. He was rescued on the night of his twentieth day of captivity by members of the Order of Saint Giles.
They taught him how to harness his new found power and how to use the powers of the tattoos to maintain his humanity. For the next five decades he continued to fight against the influence and brutality of the red court. Eventually he relocated to Vatican City to act as a representative of the order to the Holy See.
Now in his 90’s, Father Rogerio is one of the oldest surviving members of the order. His age leads many people to underestimate him, but his vast knowledge, power and skill are still as effective today as they were fifty years ago.
