Angela de la Barthe is a member of the powerful Tribus. She is one of three members of the Coterie and is responsible for the peace, safety and protection of the Veneficas Forum in Rome.
Angela de la Barthe was a noblewoman and a notorious witch was tried for witchcraft and condemned to death by the Inquisition in 1275. She was ordered burned at the stake for a number of atrocious deeds she’d committed, according to the Inquisition. The crimes attributed to her included, but were not limited to, having habitual sexual intercourse with the Devil, feeding a demon babies dug up from Church yard graves, Commerce with the Devil, and regular attendance at the Sabbat.
In reality, Angela supported Gnostic Christianism, a religious sect frowned upon by the Catholic Church, in the midst of an inquisition. Her uncommon behavior led to accusations of witchcraft, which in turn led to a sentence to a horrifying death. In those times, such a fate was all too common.
Angela escaped and went into hiding. She would remain out of sight, careful to remain unseen and unidentified for centuries.
