" Is it not much more likely that they are seeking your overthrow rather than your welfare? I can help you see to it that they never get the chance to cause you strife if you but join me in our mutual benefit."
- Andras

Andras was once a powerful angel, having under his command thirty legions of angels from God’s elite Host. As a fallen angel he is known for his ability to sow discord among people, especially those allied with each other. He is reputed to be a true manipulator, specializing in very subtle maneuvers that usually appear to be innocuous at first appearance.

He is mentioned in the Ars Goetia, as Andras, the Grand Marquis of Hell. in that text he is said to appear with a winged angel’s body and the head of an owl or raven, usually riding upon a strong black wolf and wielding a sharp and bright gleaming sword. He is also identified as the 63rd of the 72 spirits of Solomon.

Andras is considered to be a highly dangerous demon, which was known to kill any conjuring magician and his assistants if careful precautions were not taken. A misstep outside the magical protective circle could mean instant death for the conjurer(s), and Andras was always trying to lure them out.

The Dutch demonologist Johannes Wier, in his “Pseudomonarchia Daemonum”, says of Andras: “Andras is a great marquise, and seems in an angel’s shape with a head like a black night raven, riding upon a black and a very strong wolf, flourishing with a sharp sword in his hand, he can kill the master, the servant, and all assistants, he is author of discords, and rules thirty legions.”

Another demonologist, Collin de Plancy, also mentions Andras in his writings: “[…] Grand Marquis of Hell. He appears to have the body of an angel and the head of a wood owl, and to be riding a black wolf and carrying in his hand a pointed saber. He teaches those whom he favors to kill their enemies, masters and servants. He stirs up trouble and dissension. He commands thirty legions.”

Among the powers that the Knights of the Sword proscribe to whims the ability to communicate and command all sorts of birds, especially intelligent birds, such as owls, ravens and crows. It is also believed that he is able to command and summon wolves. As a manipulator, he prefers to inhabit people who have personalities that coincide with his particular skills. Thus those seeking control, power and leverage over others. This can make him an extremely difficult opponent to identify, since he can often hide his dealings easily under the guise of a particularly effective manipulative human.

He was last encountered in 1954 inhabiting an undisclosed member of the United States Senate.
